Gutter cleaning is a vital part of any buildings maintenance program – particularly when a building is surrounded by trees. A lack of gutter cleaning results in overflow during heavy rain – causing leaks into eaves and roof voids. Over time gutters will rust out – this is caused by the rotten debris and dirt holding moisture against the metal for extended periods of time.

JSJ Roofing stress that it is important a roofer carries out the gutter cleaning. Our reasoning for this is:

  1. Roofers are certified and insured to work at heights.
  2. Roofers are experienced in using fall restraint harness systems to comply with WH&S Regulations.
  3. Roofers know where to walk on the roof in order to avoid causing additional damage. Damage may include breaking roof tiles or denting roof sheets.
  4. Roofers can identify any potential leaks and maintenance required whilst on the roof. They can also conduct roof inspection reports if required.
