Common questions
Do you charge for inspections?
Inspections and reports for strata buildings are charged. We confirm the fee when you send the job.
Who pays for roof repairs in a strata building?
In most strata schemes the roof is common property, so the owners corporation is responsible. Some by-laws and older plans allocate parts of the roof differently. We scope every quote clearly so you and the committee can confirm responsibility before approving.
Do you deal with the occupants directly?
Yes. Once you send the job, we contact the occupant to arrange access and keep you copied on anything that affects the work or the cost.
What do your reports include?
Photos of what we found, a plain-English explanation of the cause, the scope and price of the fix, and after photos once the work is done. See the sample report below.
Can you take work orders through ServiceM8 Network?
Yes. Head contractors and facilities managers on ServiceM8 can send us Network work orders directly to info@jsjroofing.com.au.
Are you licensed and insured for strata work?
Yes. NSW contractor licence 451327C, $20 million public liability and workers compensation. Certificates of currency are available on request.
What strata clients say
- ★★★★★
“The quote was detailed and precise in its scope of works, with photos included, which clearly demonstrated that the root cause of the issue was understood from the start… Post-job photos were supplied after completion, which provided confidence in the quality of the repair and were useful for record-keeping. Communication was excellent throughout, with smooth coordination involving the strata manager and neighbouring owners to organise access and clear the common area.”
- ★★★★★
“I’m on the strata committee for a unit block in Summer Hill and we have just used JSJ Roofing for a large roofing and guttering job… Tibo kept me up to date on all aspects of the job as it was progressing and I have no hesitation recommending them and their services.”
- ★★★★★
“Over the years, JSJ Roofing has completed several jobs for the building, including work that other roofers were reluctant to even quote on… It’s one thing to do quality work, it’s another to stand behind it and ensure the customer is completely happy.”
